1950's Silver Belt Buckle
A very beautiful and unique piece - a sterling silver damascene belt buckle featuring a miniature sword that slips and holds two buckle pieces together.
Damascene technique features the art of inlaying different metals into one another—to produce intricate patterns like the ones featured on this great vintage piece. Scrollwork lines curl around in the center point of the buckle, reminiscent of smoke and feathers and two different scenes captured on either side of the buckle featuring a ship at sea and an urban city landscape.
This buckle has two sides that fit together and are held in place by a small sword linked to the buckle by a small chain. An excellent piece for someone who loves silver and appreciates eclectic style.
