Pendelfin, Ace, Tennis, Tennis Player, Tennis Ball, Stonecraft, Ceramic, Rabbit, Bunny, Tony Green, Figurine, Vintage, Burnley, England
A vintage Pendelfin figurine, "Ace", the tennis player.
Features an cheerful anthropomorphic rabbit of ceramic stonecraft, wearing a pale blue and white tennis outfit and backwards even paler blue cap.
He is poised with tennis racket in hand, mouth agape in anticipation, ready to serve the next yellow tennis ball, standing with light blue and white sneakers positioned upon a green grassy mound.
Marked "PD" (on the back of his cap), "TG" (on the front of his shirt, in blue), and "PENDELFIN ENGLAND" (on the back).
This particular figurine was designed by pendelfin artist, Tony Green, around 2001.
These fanciful anthropomorphized rabbit figurines came from the lively imaginations of artists Jeannie Todd and Jean Walmsley Heap. Production of these figurines began in the 1950s. The primary designer of these Pendelfin rabbit figurines, Jean Walmsley Heap, passed away in 2008 and the production of Pendelfin from England virtually ceased. This item is an example of work produced under the Pendelfin name after production of these was moved overseas.
About 4" high.
In excellent condition.
Accompanied by the original box.
This figurine would make a lovely companion to "Annette" (RF65986).
