The Mistress of Shenstone, by Florence L. Barclay

Florence Barclay was a romance and short story writer around the turn of the century.  "The Mistress of Shenstone" is the followup and somewhat sequel to her most popular  better known book, "The Rosary."

If you are into Victorian romance and mystery, or are a fan of "The Rosary" or any of the films based on Barclays' works, this is well worth picking up!

This cloth hardcover copy is in very good condition, with some minor wear to the edges and corners.  The pages and the bindings are intact.  There are lightly pencilled initials of a previous owner inside the front and back.

We believe this to be the harder to find first alternate edition, published in tandem by Grosset & Dunlap the same year that Putnam & Sons published their first edition.

Size is 5 3/4" x 7 5/8"
