Royal Doulton, Brambley Hedge, Mr. Toadflax, 1983, Vintage, Rude,

A rare Mr. Toadflax figurine from Royal Doulton's Brambley Hedge series.  D. BH 10 1983.

A cute little anthropomorphised mouse seated with his napkin on his lap and happily eating a treat.

This is the first version which was discovered to be inappropriately "RUDE" shortly after production began due to the unfortunate placement of his TAIL.

The error was soon caught and remedied, but not before a number of these entered the wild and open marketplace.

Thus, while being "rude" they are also not so plentiful and are indeed considered "rare."  

First (rude) version Jill Barklem.  England.  3" high.  Mint condition. Hard to find!!!
